4.Launched in 2005, READ! Singapore aims to promote a culture of reading fiction among Singaporeans and provide them with opportunities to re-discover the joy of reading while creating a common topic for discussion within the community. Over 1,000 Singaporeans aged 15 years and above were interviewed for the survey, which was conducted from 15 June to 12 July 2009.

5.The key objectives of the survey were to gauge and assess the level of awareness of the initiative since its launch, ascertain the levels of attendance and participation of the initiative and determine the engagement level of the participants towards READ!
