[摘要] Founded in 1968 as the Library of the Lingnan College,the Lingnan University Library continues to develop its full-fledged services and facilities in the Tuen Mun campus in 1995.In 1998,the Library received a generous donation from the late benefactor Mr Fong Sum Wood and was named after him.

Lingnan University is known for its long tradition in providing high-quality liberal arts education.The Library strives to become the learning hub and intellectual heart of the University to support our student's and staff’s learning and research journey in the University.We are committed to providing our students,faculty,alumni and all our stakeholders with rich resources,innovative services,diverse facilities and inspiring space to advance the strategic priorities of the University and your pursuits in the University.
I invite you to explore our e-resources,digital and print collections comprising several hundred subscribed databases,millions of e-books and e-journals,the print collections of more than 0.5 million of books and journals,and over 0.2 million of multimedia resources,plus numerous in-house developed digital collections including the electronic theses and dissertations,archives and special collections,all searchable in either our integrated library system,1-Search,or the Digital Commons platform.Our purpose is to develop fit-for-purpose collections.Thus,besides the collections in the University,we also help all users go beyond our four walls to reach the collections in local and overseas libraries.We also rely on your support to build our collections.You are welcome to suggest a purchase or contact our Library Liaisons.
Our strong collections are provided along with professional services.We are concerned with meeting your learning and research needs.General and tailor-made workshops and seminars;online information literacy course;course readings;course reserves;e-learning videos on different subjects and subject guides are all provided.A new Research Support team has just been established to provide a suite of research support services to support your research life cycle.Our professional librarians are ready to offer you research consultation service to help you locate and select relevant information sources.They will also serve in the Integrated HelpDesk to answer your enquiries.You can also communicate with them via different online channels like WhatsApp,e-mail and interactive Zoom sessions.
We are also committed to turn the Library into your favourite place of learning,studying and research.Already there are a variety of spaces including quiet study rooms,group study rooms,different places to study,social and cultural space and diverse facilities to suit for different needs.In December 2020,the Library will kick-start a major renovation to further modernize its space and facilities to create a technology-enabled teaching and learning hub and provide a secure,flexible and innovative environment for study and research in the digital age.
